It has been a fruitful and enriching experience seeing how Let’s Decode facilitates the development of early literacy in children. The success of the programme in the two schools we visited convinces us that Let’s Decode is a programme that will benefit our pupils in learning how to read. This trip has given usthe opportunity to bond and collaborate further. We have also benefited much from our daily reflections and dialogues. It has definitely helped to enhance our professional development as teachers.

My Reflection

A trip to Perth in the pipeline

When we get there,

What will we see, what will we find?

Intense preparations underway

Presentations to be made

Souvenirs to be given away

Reacquainting myself with phonics anew

Learning Let’s Decode

Gives me a whole new point of view

From Dr Lorraine to Diana Rigg

Give children the key

To unlock literacy

The trip over, it’s back to school

Consolidate what we’ve learnt

To implement our new tool

The past 2 months of preparations is finally culminating with the trip this Friday! I am indeed very appreciative of the support given by Mdm Moliah and the primary school principals in the cluster. I am confident that the training and the programme which we are going to embark on will benefit our pupils, especially the struggling readers. I am also glad for this opportunity to be able to get to know the KPs going on the trip better and to foster better camaraderie among ourselves.

Hi everyone,

I think I am the last to come on board.Feeling both excited and apprehensive(about blogging).

Hope to make this a ‘fruitful trip’ as well as a relaxing one!(it’s the holidays, mate!)
