The learning journey to Perth should be interesting and a great learning experience.  As I am relatively new to the cluster, I hope to get to know my colleagues better. I hope to pick up some best practice approaches in management, as well as, in teaching and learning through this interaction. I believe that my capacity as a middle manager will be enhanced as a result.

I am also looking forward to studying with and learning from Lorraine, to know more about the Let’s Decode programme. In the daily debrief, it will be a good opportunity to think about and reflect on strategies that would enhance pupils’ literacy in my school. The school visits should be enriching as it is a good opportunity to interact with the Australian kids and also to share and learn from our Australian colleagues.

My last visit to Perth was more than ten years ago…Looking forward to knowing Perth again J

One of the things that make teaching an exciting and challenging vocation in today’s context is the range of useful and timely opportunities that are available to teachers to explore ways and means of expanding one’s teaching capacity to ensure meeting pupils’ needs. And I guess, one such opportunity is definitely such short learning journeys out of the country.  I am indeed excited at the thought of visiting schools in a different set up where most of the pupils are native speakers of the English Language. It would be good to learn from them and adapt their ideas to suit our pupils’ needs.  Besides, the idea of  ‘business cum pleasure’ certainly appeals to me. With that, here I come Perth

It is one week before the trip. Assignments. Excitement. Anticipation. All these things are running through my mind. I wonder what this trip is going to be like? I certainly hope that the new experiences will be enriching and new relationships will be built.

Hi all,

I have taken the liberty to update the profile page. Please have a look see. I have linked my school’s webpage in the badge. Can I do the rest? Please scold me if I have taken too many ‘liberties!’

I’m pretty excited about going for this programme. The sharings were interesting and I look forward to getting to know everyone in the team!

Preparations are seriously under way. We’ve firmed up our itinerery, prepared our presentations, gathered our souvenirs, planned our wardrobe…(not really, but we’ve checked the weather, and it says it can be chilly in the evenings)

Besides all the serious stuff, we hope to catch a play, eat some good food, visit some places of interest, and do some shopping…(after all, it’s our Mar hols)
